My Animatic...

This is my Animatic, I put my drawings from my storyboard into IMovie and made a short video to show what it will be like when I begin to film.
The whole point of this is to help me to understand and show to my target audience for feed back.

I am in the process of updating my Animatic, so that it includes sound and proper film titles!!

Time Lapse Examples...

Here I have selected two time lapse examples from YouTube.
I love how the time lapse is used in this film and I have chosen this clip to show what I am thinking of doing it also. I want to do a time lapse in St. Catherine's Woods, where the people constantly walk past the hand in the grass, oblivious to the fact that it is there.
I then would like to do a time lapse, on a close up of the hand in the grass and the grass growing up around it. I believe that this will be really effective and help to enhance my film opening.

Costumes and Make Up...

Costumes:
I do not need to prepare any costumes for my characters as, they will just wear their own clothes.
Courtney will be wearing her pyjamas, as she is awoken from her bed and then taken, therefore if she was to wear clothes it wouldn't make sense, so PJ's are suitable.
All that I require that Joel wears is a hoody, the rest of the outfit can be chosen himself. If it doesn't look silly I may also ask Joel to wear a black balaclava.

Make Up.
The two characters will both need make up applied, Courtney especially, therefore I am going to ask my friend Daisy Barnard to be the make up artist.

Characters...

The male character will be played by Joel Wheeler. He's 17 years of age and is currently doing his A Levels. I choose Joel because he is a close friend, who I believe will play a good part as he has previous acting experience and is confident in front of a camera. Another reason why I chose Joel is that he is also studying Media at A Level so he will be able to help me if I come across any problems.
The female character is going to be played by Courtney Stafford. She is 16 years old and is also studding her A Levels. Courtney is a good friend who is willing to be a part of my film, however she last little acting experience but has taken part in core drama for the first 3 years of Secondary School.

Location Shots...

The Girls Bedroom. This is my Bedroom, I will use this as my location to film the bedroom scenes, as it is easy for me to access and I have control over lighting and I also have no time limit on time.
The WareHouse/Basement. I want somewhere that appears derelict and unused to film the parts where the female character is dead and the male is in awe of her.
(This isn't the actual location but I am having trouble trying to get in touch with the people who own the actual warehouse, at the moment. Therefore I have collected these images to show what kind of location I am hoping to use.)
St. Catherine's Woods. This is where I will do the time lapse stuff. I have visited here many times before and it is usually quite busy therefore It will  be a great place to shoot a time lapse because people will constantly be walking past the camera lens.

Story Board...

This is my Story Board. I have drawn the different scenes by hand and then scanned them onto the computer, so that they could be viewed on here. On each section I have written at the side, a brief description of why I have chosen to use the type of angle and briefly explained what will happen. I have drawn a total number of 11 slides. However I'm still unsure if I will add more slides.

My Preliminary Task...

This is my Preliminary task, we had to do this in order to show our ability of using the camera equipment. We had to include some duologue and different camera angles. I edited it using Final Cut Pro and then IMovie to add music.

Title Time Line...

Here I looked at the film Durham County again and this time I focused on the timings of the titles and what they were. My chosen film only lasted 34 seconds so there wasn't a lot of titles popping up unlike other films therefore I've had a look at other films too, but I based this piece of work on this film.

Dexter...

The Opening Sequence of 'Dexter'...

I really like the close up on things at the beginning I really like how the camera has gone close up to the fly/mosquito on the humans arm.

I love the way that the title is sort of made out of a bloody texture and the droplets of blood fall onto the page.

I really like how the use of focus is played with in this clip, as the finger runs along the face, and the the sound effects are so crisp and sharp.  I love how clear the facial hair is on one part of the face and how the rest is out of focus.

The close up on the blood rolling down the face is really cool and if I show blood in my film opening then this is how I would incorporate it. Again the focus is played with to really enhance the presence of the blood.

I like how the images shown trick the viewer, like this one here. I looks like the character is cutting someone's flesh and then it is revealed that it is bacon that is being cooked for breakfast. I think that this is a great way to interest the audience.

Agian tricking the audience the way that the orange is being cut it resembles skin, I just love the way that the camera fools us, by using close ups and slow motion.

This shot makes us believe that someone maybe about to be strangled but we are then shown that he is trying his lases. It's just so cleverly done.

This screen grab looks really effective. Like someone is being suffocated, however he is just getting dressed.
